Matthew's been marking his territory
So, um, for my opening blog post I decided to share why my guest bedroom smells of urine. I noticed a wet spot on the carpet in the guest bedroom and started sniffing and it smelled like pee. I asked Matthew (in a kind and sweet patient nurturing mommy kind of way), 'Oh honey, did you have an accident?" Um, yeah, he told me. (In the same kind, understanding way) "Well, go get your wet britches and I'll throw them in the washer. "Well", he told me..."I didn't have an accident in my pants". (In a little less nice of a voice) Did you have time to take your pants off? Yes, mom, he tells me.
So I take a minute to process this fact and weigh whether or not I think that if you have the time to take off your clothes whether you have time to make it to the bathroom and decide that you could. So I tell him, you are grounded from computer for a week. He says, thats okay. Then I called his dad and tell him all about it. "Oh, yeah" I am told, we talked about that last week. Anyway, the long and short of it is that Matthew has been choosing to pee in the guest bedroom. At this point motive is still unknown.
Consequence: week of grounding from computer and blockbuster, I've also told him that he probably won't get to go to Webkinz day in Salt Lake because I'm afraid that he will pee on the store floor. He has assured me that he only does it when nobody is looking....phew, what a relief.

oh wow. Jacob and I got a good chuckle about that one. I'm sure it won't be too long before we're sharing similar stories. About the justification that no one is looking, Jacob says "That's so Matthew."
